Viote Cross - Country Ski Centre

Among the most beautiful and practical in the whole of Trentino, the Viote Cross-country Ski Centre offers 35 kilometres of pistes for free style and classic technique (groomed everyday) through the sunny Conca delle Viote at 1 565 metres, in the presence of the Three Peaks symbol of Bondone, or rather Cornetto, Doss d'Abramo and Cima Verde. Also equipped with a programmable artificial snow system, the Centre has a car park and heated service areas for cross-country skiers and excursionists, a cross-country ski school, equipment hire, restaurant with sun terrace and it is the departure point for snow shoeing or Alpine ski excursions. Numerous tracks also for Nordic walking enthusiasts. A kindergarten with a playground and its own sleigh run for the little ones.

The Centre run by A.S.I.S. (Azienda Speciale Impianti Sportivi del Comune di Trento) is at a height of 1560 a.s.l., on Monte Bondone that is around 25 km from Trento. From the capital it can be reached along the provincial road through Sopramonte-Candriai-Vason-Viote or through Aldeno-Garniga. The following services are available at the centre:

  • car park for around 500 cars;
  • 2 changing rooms, 6 showers, 9 toilets;
  • all equipment hire for cross-country skiing, Nordic walking and snow-shoeing;
  • snow-tubing hire, sleighs, bob-sleighs and helmets;
  • area equipped for a perfect application of ski wax;
  • bar and restaurant service at the "Capanna Viote" where among other things it is possible to taste local produce from Trentino's cuisine.

For the sporting aspect the centre offers around 35 km of perfectly groomed and marked pistes that satisfy the different requirements of all types of skier. You can find:

  • Piste Cercenari 7.5km (difficult)
  • Piste Val del Merlo 10km (medium)
  • Piste Gervasi 9km (medium)
  • Piste Elica 3.5km (medium)
  • The "school pistes": school pistes (x2) 3.5km (easy), learner's ring 1.5km
  • Piste Elica 3.5km that also allows sled-dogging

Also available for the customers of the centre:

  • a downhill snow-tubing, sleigh and bob-sled run (around 110 m. long with a 20% incline) supervised by A.S.I.S. staff who ensure people's safety;
  • children's playground, with inflatable toys (coloured slides, bouncy castle, clown house, ..) to jump, do somersaults and much more in complete safety;
  • a footpath of around 4.5km that allows pleasant and relaxing walks in the heart of nature.
