Monte Bondone
If on one side slopes are steep and perfect for downhill skiing in winter, leaving from 2090 metres at the top of Palon, on the other side Monte Bondone gently slopes into the splendid Viote plateau at around 1500 metres. Among the moss and conifer woods there is also room for the multi-coloured Botanical Alpine Garden that holds over a thousand varieties of plants and flowers from all over Europe. Up high, Monte Cornetto (2180m), Doss d'Abramo (2140m) and Cima Verde (2102m) dominate the plateau and they make up a protected nature area, called "Tre cime" (Three peaks). Lake Cei is on the eastern slopes as well as some moist areas that have become protected biotopes, whilst the ancient village of Garniga Terme is found at a height of around 800 metres, completely immersed in nature, a combination of woods and meadows, famous for the grass from its fields used for ancient thermal treatments.
Places where life passes on a human scale, untouched by mass tourism, all waiting to be discovered.
