AREAS FOR PARKING UPON PAYMENT € PARK
The parking spaces marked out by dark blue lines are payment-only (charges indicated on the signs) from 8,00 to 19,30 pm of working days (Saturday included). Outside these times, parking is free.
How to pay
Using the parking meter: by inserting coins (EUR 0.20/0.30/0.40) according to the zonal charges, a receipt is printed with the date and time of the parking permit expiry. The time is calculated from the moment of coin insertion.
Using the paper card, on sale at ACI offices, newsstands, tobacconists. Each card has a EUR 1 value and enables parking for 1 / 1.5 / 2 hours according to the area. The year, month, day, time and minute of parking start must be scratched on this card. For longer parking, more than one must be scratched.
Using the e-card, on sale at ACI offices, newsstands, tobacconists. The card, initially set for 1 hr hour parking, is activated on start of parking and de-activated on end of parking. When activated, the available time for parking is visualized on a small display.
The cards and the parking meter receipt must be clearly displayed in the front part of the vehicle. No display means no payment.

RESTRICTED TRAFFIC AREA (ZTL)
The restricted traffic area (ZTL) is the delimited by following streets/squares (which are excluded):
Via Prati, via Esterle (between via Prati and via al Torrione), via al Torrione, piazza Fiera, giardini Garzetti-Largo Pigarelli, via S. Francesco d’Assisi, via Calepina (between Largo Porta Nuova and via Mantova), via Mantova (between via Calepina and via Roggia Grande), via Roggia Grande, via Galilei, piazza Venezia, via dei Ventuno, via B. Clesio, piazza della Mostra, piazza Sanzio, via Torre Verde, via Torre Vanga, piazza Portella, via Roma (between piazza Portella and via S. Giovanni), via S. Giovanni and piazza 2 Settembre, piazza S. Maria Maggiore (between via Prepositura and vicolo Morosante), via Rosmini (up to the crossing with via Prati).
Within the restricted traffic area the circulation of all motor vehicles is prohibited from 00.00 to 24.00, on working days and holidays, except for authorised vehicles (Mayoral Decision No. 24650 of 31.05.2000 and subsequent amendments).
Within the restricted traffic area a pedestrian-only area has been set up, delimited by the following streets/squares:
via Oss Mazzurana, passaggio S. Benedetto, via delle Orne, via Diaz, via Malpaga, piazzetta del Sass, via del Simonino, vicolo del Teatro, via Oriola, via Schivabriga, piazza Lodron, piazza Pasi, vicolo dei dall’Armi.
In this area circulation is prohibited from 10.00 to 19.00, except for bicycles, vehicles whose owner has a private car park within this area, emergency vehicles, vehicles of disabled persons, taxis on call.
Loading/unloading of authorised motor vehicles is allowed between 7.00 and 10.00; loading/unloading (max stop: 15 minutes) is allowed also to authorised vehicles of residents from 19.00 to 10.00.
The main office of the Municipal Police may issue special permits to citizens in special cases (Ufficio Permessi - via F.lli Bronzetti, 1 – ground floor - tel. +39 0461-884579).
SPEED AND LOAD LIMIT
In the ZTL areas the speed limit is 30 km/h and at pedestrian speed in the pedestrian-only area. Transit and stopping are prohibited to vehicles with loads heavier than 20 t on the streets paved with porphyry cubes. The load limit is 11 t on the streets paved with porphyry slabs and 3.5 t on the pavements.
